The Ngorongoro Crater is a large volcanic caldera which plays host to an advanced ecosystem perfect for the inhabiting and preservation of a wide variety of animals, from the aptly named king of the jungle, the lion, to the ever so rarer horned beast, the rhino. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area itself has a land area size of around 8,292 Km2<\/sup>, of which Crater floor itself stands about 304 km2\u00a0<\/sup>and the height of up to 610 meters from the top to the bottom and was originally established as a Conservation Area in 1959. In 1979, the Conservation Area received the honoring title of a World Heritage Site, to ensure that the unique and specialness of the Ngorongoro remains protected and preserved for generation to generation.<\/p>

This very impressive Waterfall is one of the tallest in the area, spewing crystal clear glacier water 70m into its basin. The beautiful path leading to Materuni Waterfall is located 2500m above sea level. It traverses through valleys and hills covered by tropical rainforest, past coffee, banana and avocado \u201cshambas\u201d, the Kiswahili word for farms. The way to water falls there is a possibility to see different beautiful bird species like sun birds and Chameleon reptile.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

On a clear day great views of Kibo and Moshi can be seen. The hike to the base of the Waterfall can be demanding and hiking boots are recommended. Upon reaching the bottom a picnic lunch will be served before returning to Materuni village, the starting point of the hike. Hiking boots and a pole are highly recommended. If a pole is not available the guide will construct one from tree branches found in the area.<\/p>

On the lower slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro lies the village of Materuni. It is one of many villages in Tanzania populated by Chagga tribe. Materuni village produces many perishable goods including yam, sugar, maize and beans. However, the main crop that is grown is coffee. In the village you will be able to learn about the process from which coffee is grown, to when it is finally poured, steaming hot into the cup. You will pick you own coffee, remove the cover and then with coffee that has been previously dried out, crush it into coffee granules. After experiencing the complete coffee production process you will be able to enjoy your very own, satisfying and rewarding cup of fresh coffee.<\/p>

You will also learn how the Chagga tribe lives, such as their home set-up, the types of food they cook and eat and how they rear their animals.<\/p>

Visit the\u00a0Marangu falls<\/strong>\u00a0go swimming and experience stunning landscapes. The waterfalls are situated on the Kilimanjaro National Park boarder, to the foot of the Kilimanjaro. About 40 minute drive from Moshi town, from which you have a very nice view on Mt. Kilimanjaro, located in the beautiful country side of Merangu surrounded by lush landscapes, you will find this hidden waterfall.<\/span><\/p>

At the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Ndoro Waterfall is one of the most popular and largest waterfalls in the area. A one hour hike, descending through the stunning green landscapes of Chagga (the third largest tribe in Tanzania) land will bring you to this huge waterfall, here you will have the opportunity to stand underneath the waterfall, even jump off one and go swimming in the refreshing water and have a well-deserved break for lunch in the beautiful valley.<\/span><\/p>

The word \u201cMarangu\u201d means a place with too many water streams. This is one of the most popular places in Tanzania.<\/span><\/p>
